Our mission	We reveal stories about freedom’s heroes, from the era of the Underground Railroad to contemporary times, challenging and inspiring everyone to take courageous steps for freedom today.

Opportunities	Youth Docent Your training with National Underground Railroad Freedom Center staff and adult docents will prepare them to serve as volunteers throughout the museum’s permanent exhibits and in the community. Occasional Teens, Adults Individuals Indoor Formal Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Greeter You interact with our guests to make them feel welcome and appreciated. We like to know where are guests are from, why they’re here, and what their interested in seeing at our museum. Occasional 21+, 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor On-site Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Exhibit Interpreter You can help create an excellent visitor experiences for guests through dialogue, interactive activities, and collaborative learning. Assist with K-12 tours, adult tours and exhibit interpretation for special events. Occasional 21+, 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor Formal Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Special Events You can check guests in, answer questions, monitor the floor, work a volunteer booth, and much more. How you help	Volunteers have been integral in every stage of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center’s life – from conception through day-to-day operations. Volunteers lead group tours, interpret exhibits, staff the FamilySearch Center, assist guests, and so much more.
