Alpaugh Family Economics Center Annual Awards canceled for 2020
No doubt you’ve heard the news that the University of Cincinnati has cancelled face-to-face classes through April 13, and limited all events to fewer than 150 people through May 31st, out of an abundance of caution during the coronavirus outbreak. Unfortunately, that means the Alpaugh Family Economics Center’s Annual Awards event, scheduled for April 20, has been canceled. We’re in the process of rescheduling our event for next spring, and will look forward to seeing you all then. We will be honoring our 2020 award winners next spring, so we’ll still get to celebrate the accomplishments of our Economic Empowerment Award winners, Nathan Bachrach and Ed Finke, as well as our StEP School of the Year, C.O. Harrison Elementary, StEP Teacher of the Year, Ann Kroger, from Kilgour Elementary, and our Educator of the Year, Kathryn Holcomb, from Miami Intermediate. We’ve been moved by the degree of support shown by our sponsors this year, many of whom are donating their 2020 event sponsorships as gifts to the Center. As you can imagine, the cancellation of an event like this is a serious challenge for a nonprofit like ours. Your support is much needed and appreciated, as we look to continue all of our programming once schools are back open. We are working on a plan to honor our sponsors and donors over social media channels, and in other marketing materials as well. Thank you so much for your continued support of The Alpaugh Family Economics Center! We wish all of you, and your families, good health as we get through this challenging time together.
