The volunteers are At-Large positions. The primarily function of the board is to serve as advisory to the Executive Director. Committees are created for special projects and larger community events. Currently, a concert committee, WinterFest committee and an Art Show committee meet as needed. Reports are provided through a consent agenda. In 2018, we plan to form a financial advisory committee. No residency requirements are in place for the financial committee. Board Requirements ArtsConnect does not require a financial contribution from board members. Ideally, members do own a business or reside in Springfield Township. Attendance to meetings is required (monthly) and participation at events is a privilege that most enjoy to be a part of. We do ask that each board member contribute to fundraising objectives and assist in promoting events to their circle of influence. Onboarding When a position is open, letters of interest are accepted and reviewed. Top candidates are interviewed by the Executive Director and the Chair. A final list with a recommendation is submitted to the Arts Council board and to the Springfield Township Board of Trustees. A final interview with additional board members is possible. The Springfield Township Board of Trustees appoints any new members on the the Art Council board. The formal onboarding is a four to five month process and includes a thumb drive of information, individual meetings with the executive director and lunch with board members.
