The Board accomplishes this goal through financial oversight as well as through accountability of the leadership of the organization. Board Requirements 1. Board members are responsible for the oversight of the organization. It is the duty of each board member to support the organization’s mission: We create intimate, transformative experiences that connect the musically curious. 2. It is the responsibility of each board member to know and vote on organizational policies, participate in strategic planning, and be familiar with all of CCO’s programs and services. 3. It is the responsibility of each board member to fully understand and be active in monitoring CCO’s finances, income, and expenses; in planning and approving the budget; and in fundraising to meet the budget. 4. Board members are expected to advocate on behalf of CCO. They should attend – and encourage others to attend – all CCO performances and events. 5. Each board member is expected to support CCO’s revenue goals and participate in fundraising activities as discussed under the Financial Contribution section. We strive for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions. -- Parent -- Add New Additional donation expectation information Each Board member is expected to support CCO’s revenue goals and participate in fundraising activities as follows: a. Make a combined “give/get” to each annual operating budget of a suggested minimum of $1,000, which may be contributed personally or through personally solicited gifts. i. Board members will inform CCO of their annual pledge amount at the beginning of each fiscal year, with payment made in full no later than 30 days before the end of each fiscal year. ii. Board members are expected to seek out (“get”) additional cash and in-kind contributions to CCO, and to submit names of prospective donors for fundraising activities. The “get” might also include program advertisements or concert sponsorships. b. Board members are expected to purchase 2 special fundraising event tickets (example: Gala) per season. c.
