Board members are encouraged to join committees that guide and benefit the center. Examples of committees are but not limited to: financial oversight, fundraising, facilities, board membership etc. The board works with and oversees the Executive Director. Board Requirements Attendance at board meetings is strongly encouraged. Meetings currently take place every other month on the second Tuesday. Some board action is taken via email. Pledge sheets for board members are requested. No set amount is required but an emphasis is placed on actions that promote the center (i.e. attending fundraising events, introducing the Center to organizations, etc.) Onboarding Potential Board members meeting the board membership committee. At the meeting the candidate is given more information about the Center and Board goals and commitments are explained. The committee presents the candidate to the board of Trustees. The candidate is then voted on by the entire board.
