Connected to Organization --- not set --- Opportunity Title Description Delivery Protocol A delivery should be carried out in a very specific manner. Volunteers are instructed to leave the grocery items at the door and step back six feet as per social distancing guidelines. The client can then bring their groceries into the home, and leave cash or a cashier’s check in its place. If the client (or a loved one) has paid for the order electronically, the client can simply bring their items inside and enjoy! Clients should never pay the volunteer with cash or cashier’s check before delivery. Clients should also never give out credit/debit card information. If a volunteer asks for this before delivery, please contact your local state coordinator. We currently cannot accept credit, debit, or EBT SNAP cards for purchases. Volunteer Requirements: Please be aware that we are updating our volunteer standards to prevent transmission of infection. Volunteers must: (a) be 18 years of age or older, unless accompanied by a parent/guardian. (b) not have been in contact with anyone who tested positive for COVID-19. (c) not have traveled outside of the country in the last 14 days. (d) not display any symptoms of illness (major symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath). (e) wear rubber/latex gloves or a substitute (i.e. gardening, snow gloves, etc.). (f) practice social distancing and good hand hygiene. Volunteer Guidelines/Expectations: (a) wear masks or alternatives (scarves, bandanas, etc.) when available. The CDC now recommends you wear cloth masks when in public spaces. (b) find a partner to volunteer with (i.e. family member, friend) to ensure your own safety, but also maintain social distancing. (c) carry cash change (in increments of $1, $5, $10 bills and/or coinage). If clients are paying cash upon delivery, we want to ensure that they receive their items and only pay the amount on the receipt – with no extra delivery charges or fees. If you ever feel that your safety is compromised, or have any questions whatsoever, do not hesitate to contact your state coordinator!
