Even in midst of crisis, new homes for CUB clients being prepared

At CUB, this Mother’s Day holds special meaning as we prepare to open the Cincinnati Scholar House, an empowering program that tackles poverty two generations at a time. This innovative apartment community will provide affordable housing with comprehensive supportive services and an on-site child development center to 44 superhero single mothers who are pursuing college degrees.
Even in the midst of this crisis, we are making final preparations in the building and working through the necessary details to ensure that we can move our families into their new apartments safely. We will operate the Child Development Center as a pandemic care center for essential healthcare personnel and first responders until Governor DeWine reopens childcare centers. Our new residents are determined to meet their goals of finishing their degrees and making better lives for themselves and their children. Honoring their superhero sacrifice, generosity, advocacy, and inspiration, we’re not going to let them down—we’re hurrying to ready their arrival.
And while we can’t open our doors to the general public during the pandemic, we’re excited to offer you this photo gallery tour.
