St. Vincent de Paul - Northern Kentucky

Recently divorced, suffering from an injury and out of work, a neighbor reached out to us for some help with his bills. He was distraught and losing hope.

After our Vincentian volunteer shared how we could help with his bills in coordination with other community partners, the conversation continued in the following way:

Even though he feels alone, Jesus is right there beside him. When we are in the valleys of our lives, he is closest to us. He takes us through the valleys so that he can make us pliable to be able to shape us like the potter he is.

In a follow-up two days later, it was like she was speaking with a different man. He was light. He was joyful! He shared that after talking with her, he prayed, read the Bible and found hope.

He called the other resources and with our contribution, he had come up with enough money to meet his bills. He also found a job to help him move forward.

The best part of our outreach is the opportunity to share hope and see the face of Christ in those we serve. We are grateful for this opportunity.

We could use some help! We had a wonderful group of volunteers from Crossroads Church help us with our landscaping back in May. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to maintain it over the last few weeks. Any volunteer groups out there willing to help us pull some weeds and give our flower beds a late summer face lift?Image attachment
