The mission of AFK is to introduce financial concepts to children in a fun and interactive manner and to encourage financial and business professionals to become tutors and mentors to disadvantaged children.

As a financial literacy initiative, AFK works closely with local school districts to institute critical concepts such as finance, accounting, and economics to children, while encouraging the community to become involved by volunteering their time and knowledge at the annual AFK Day.

One of the most critical skills that any manager or supervisor could have- has to do with commenting on a subordinate’s performance. Here are some tips:1. Make it timely. 24 hour rule if possible2. Ask for permission – Asking to give feedback will come across as less aggressive and allows the employee to feel as though it is more of a conversation than an attack.3. Comment on the behavior. It can be difficult to change attitudes, but we can focus on the behavior that led to the conversation/feedback.4. Listen. Actively listen by being engaged with what they are saying.5. Develop a game plan to ensure the negative behavior(s) do not happen again.6. Do a recap of your conversation to ensure everything was communicated properly and that you know you are both on the same page.7. Document – It can simply be an email, coaching documentation or if more serious issue, a formal disciplinary action or Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).Visit www.mcmhrsg.com for more information.#humanresources #HR #shrm #TeamMCM #MCMLeads #criticalskills
