What we'll doWork side by side with passionate volunteers to cut down and remove these harmful plants from the surrounding forest of Gorman Heritage Farm.
Who can do itAnyone 5+

Volunteers of all ages are welcome to join us as we learn about invasive plant species, why they are detrimental to our environment and ways we can combat their wide spread growth. Start the day with a brief lesson about the impact invasive plants have on our native biodiversity and also how to properly identify these harmful plants and how to remove them. We will then be going to our multiple trails around our 122 acre non-profit farm to search out and remove invasive plant species.

Important information for those visiting Gorman Heritage Farm...
In the coming months, the Police Department will again be directing our coyote management program. Areas within the Village selected for management will include, among others, the Gorman Heritage Farm and Griffin Family Preserve. The specific areas within these two properties will be clearly posted with “Coyote Management Area” signs. It is important to note that the management practices utilized do not interfere with people visiting these properties. However, it is extremely important that visitors adhere strictly to two basic rules...

Rule #1: All pets must be on a leash at all times and in complete control of their owner.
Rule #2: Visitors must stay on designated paths within these properties. Do not venture off the commonly used paths, especially with pets. Otherwise, enjoy the properties to their fullest and direct any questions to Lt. Joe Asbrock at 563-2249.
