Cincinnati Rotary Do Days: Olave Baden-Powell Annual International Conference

The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts will hold the Olave Baden-Powell Annual International Conference in Cincinnati (Hilton Netherland Plaza) from October 20-23, 2022. 300 members from around the world will attend. Ten volunteers are needed for October 21 and 10 volunteers are needed for October 22. Volunteers can work a full day or half a day. No minors under the age of 18.

Refresh and renew at Gamble-Nippert YMCA. Gamble-Nippert YMCA has a number refresh and renew projects to help make the YMCA a safe and welcoming environment for members, children of preschool and afterschool care, and community visitors. Activities for this service project include painting a classroom, hallways, and outside picnic table. Landscaping and outside mulching, tree trimming, and updating the playground area with fresh mulch as needed. General cleaning and sanitizing of the fitness area will also be included.

Cincinnati Rotary Do Days: Project Connect, Cincinnati Public Schools

Organizing and restocking the Project Connect Parent Resource Center: Project Connect (PC) is Cincinnati Public Schools program serving families and children experiencing homelessness. PC serves the whole child by addressing barriers and impacting educational outcomes. Barriers include a lack of backpacks, school supplies, school uniforms, clothing, underwear, socks, and necessities such as food and hygiene items. PC has a Parent Resource Center on Vine St. where these resources are available. For this project, volunteers will organize and restock items including filling backpacks with school supplies, replenishing shelves, baskets, and bins with school uniforms, clothing, underwear, socks, and hygiene items and organizing the shoe racks.

Cincinnati Rotary Do Days: Ken Anderson Alliance, Just Brew Coffee House Shed

Through its Just Brew Coffee House, the Ken Anderson Alliance provides job skill training and employment for adults with disabilities. They have a large courtyard area at the rear of the property where they need to construct/assemble an 8’ x 8’ outdoor storage building for equipment and supplies.

Refresh and renew at Christ Child Day Nursery: This childcare center provides services for school age, infants, toddlers, and preschool children. The center has various projects that will refresh and renew the area to make it a more welcoming and safer environment. Activities include painting games such as hopscotch, 4-square and a fun obstacle course on the black top playground area. In addition, landscaping, fall planting and cleaning of the playground area and front walkway will be included.

Refresh and renew at Play Time Early Learning Center. Play Time Early Learning Center provides childcare services for school age, infants, toddlers, and preschool children. The center wants to refresh and renew the area and make it more welcoming and safer for children and their families. Activities for this service project include painting an exterior wooden fence, trimming lower branches of trees and simple landscaping, and washing windows. In case of rain, volunteers can assist with cleaning and sanitizing toys, classroom materials, and space.

The center wants to refresh and renew the area and make it more welcoming and safer for children and their families. Activities for this service project include painting games such as hopscotch, 4-square and a fun obstacle course on the playground area. Painting a mural on the wall of the school age classroom is also planned as is cleaning and sanitizing toys and classroom materials and space.
