Important Covid-19 Message from Saul’s Homeless Shelter

As the entire community and nation are dealing with the effects of the coronavirus, we want to update our partners, clients and community as a whole as to what we are doing to protect everyone involved. We offer an array of services that have all been affected in various ways.

James Sauls Homeless Shelter: We are currently not accepting any new clients. We are working with our local health department and adhering to CDC, state and local guidelines put in place by these professionals. We do not have the ability to quarantine anyone and therefore must make every effort possible to keep all involved as safe as possible. We are cutting down our capacity to nearly half in order to be compliant with these guidelines. We will be accepting clients when a bed becomes available under our new approach.

Pediatric medical – we are reducing our patient flow to only emergency ill visits and other appointments deemed necessary by our physician. We have set up telemedicine appointments and have notified our patients to please first utilize this method and the doctor will assess each patient as to how to proceed in providing care.

Pediatric dental – we are only seeing emergency patients at this time and will be providing minimal care at the direction of the dentists.

HEAP – all heap applications will be completed through the internet or phone. At this time we are waiving the face to face requirement and will continue to process applications remotely.

Weatherization – all in home weatherization services have been suspended. Emergency cases will be monitored for necessity and health and safety measures will be implemented.

Youth Services – all programs are currently suspended

TANF – clients may still apply for TANF funds, through phone, email and internet options.

We are attempting to set up a drop box for any clients that cannot access internet or email options, and will process them without face to face interviews.

We appreciate everyone’s support during these difficult times and will continue to serve clients to the best of our capacity.

Executive Director
