How you help Volunteering at Adventist Outreach is a welcoming and easy experience. Normally we have 20 volunteers per week serving 275 clients per day.
About us Adventist Outreach Ministries is a food pantry that has operated in the Avondale area of Cincinnati since 1952. The ministry was founded by the Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church. Two churches ( 1st Unitarian ) now partner in the ministry and volunteers from several other churches are involved. All pantry volunteers are unpaid. The pantry is among the top 10 largest in Hamilton County, of 275 total pantries. The pantry is a member charity of the FreeStore Foodbank. We also work with several major food processors who donate large quantities of food. The pantry is located in an area with the highest rates of poverty and unemployment in Cincinnati. We are located at 725 Whittier St. Avondale OH. The building is a 2000 sq.ft. single floor plan that is designed for efficency of operation. The pantry is open six days per month. We serve anyone who comes to us needing food. Clients can visit 4 times each month, getting up to 12 days food supplies for their families. Each year, we serve between 1500 -2000 households with between 3000-4000 people. Since 2015 we have given over 2,000,000 pounds of canned goods, produce, and protein foods to our clients.
