How you help From the beginning, the Museum's goal has been to educate and to inspire the public. Volunteers are a part of what helps us keep the lights on, literally and figuratively, so we can fulfill this mission!
About us The American Sign Museum promotes sign preservation and restoration by displaying nearly 100 years of signage. The museum is home to the history of American signage over the last century. Signs from the late 1800's are hand painted and gold leafed. Milk glass letters illuminate the electric age alongside bare bulbs. The thirties gave rise to neon signs and a rainbow of new signs. Post war, plastics became popular. We preserve and protect American history and pay homage to the artistry and craftsmanship of days gone by. The collection honors an often overlooked part of our culture that hides in plain sight as part of our daily lives.
