There have been many changes BHS has had to make due to the spread of COVID-19. We officially moved our families to hotels to maintain safe social distancing. Child CarePlay games, read books, do a variety of arts & crafts or supervise outdoor play.Provide DinnerPrepare and serve dinner at the shelters Monday through Thursday in Fairmount or Bond Hill. Volunteers can cook dinner at home and heat it upon arrival or cook in our fully equipped kitchens.Provide BreakfastPrepare and serve breakfast at the shelters on Saturdays or Sundays in Fairmount or Bond Hill. Volunteers can cook breakfast at home and heat it upon arrival or cook in our fully equipped kitchens.Office AssistantHelp with administrative projects, filing, answering phones, etc. (9am-5pm)Third Party FundraisersThird Party Fundraisers are a great way to be involved! Host a fundraiser of your own! Gather a group to host small fundraisers such as a bake sale, car wash or pub crawl to raise funds for the many needs our families may have. Or arrange a supply/donation drive for items from our wish list.Speakers BureauJoin our Speaker’s Bureau and be an advocate for Bethany House. Share information with the community by speaking at organizations and corporate group meetings, visiting churches or schools.Deep Cleaning Shelter VolunteerWe need volunteers to “super” clean both of our shelters in Fairmount and Bond Hill.Special Event CommitteeJoin a Special Event Committee and help plan our 3 annual events. Plan, prepare and run Bethany House fundraising events throughout the year. Activities range from planning the event, making follow up calls to potential attendees, soliciting auction items, making auction baskets, and helping with setup and event registration. Or volunteer the day of the event to help with a variety of activities.Maintenance VolunteerHandyman/woman needed to help maintain the shelter and staff offices. Bethany House's seven buildings need repair work on an ongoing basis. |

Food and cleaning supply donations neededDue to the COVID-19 crisis, our Administrative staff is currently working from home. However, Bethany House continues to provide shelter. If you are a family in need of emergency shelter, please call 513-381-SAFE or text 513-970-1515. If you would like to donate food or cleaning products, our shelter staff will be grateful to receive your donations at 1836 Fairmount Avenue. Ways to help youth thrive |
Child Care ProviderVolunteering at Bethany House is rewarding, fun, and most important, makes a difference in the lives of homeless families. When you hep Bethany House with childcare, you get to play games, read books, do a variety of arts & crafts and supervise outdoor play. Childcare is Monday through Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at our Fairmount shelter, located at 1836 Fairmount, and our Bond Hill shelter, located at 1629 Joseph Street. Adults age 18 and older need to complete a volunteer application, have a background check ($10 fee) and tour the facility. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to helping once per week. |

About us | Bethany House Services (BHS) provides emergency shelter for families living on the streets, in their cars or abandoned buildings, and helps them achieve stable housing and income. The shelter meets each family's immediate needs for safety, housing, food and other necessities and provides a secure environment for parents to plan for their futures. Bethany House is the largest family shelter in Cincinnati serving over half of the families experiencing homeless in our community. Bethany House is the also largest provider of HUD-funded housing for families in the Cincinnati/Hamilton County Continuum of Care (CoC) offering Shelter Diversion, Rapid Re-Housing and Permanent Supportive Housing. |
