Board Member

Our board Give Back Cincinnati is a 100% volunteer-led organization. We have 15 positions on our Board, with 8 of those positions being on our Executive Team. The Executive Team is the core operational leadership team consisting of the following positions: President, VP of Operations, VP of Programs, VP of Finance, Development Director, Communications Director, Strategic Improvements Director, and Membership Director. The remaining 7 positions on the Board are for leaders who provide strategic expertise that fits the unique needs of Give Back Cincinnati. We are also building a non-voting Advisory Board for the first time. The Advisory Board will participate in quarterly Full Board Meetings, provide strategic input and recommendations, and fulfill other duties as designated by the Board.
Position Give Back Cincinnati has a few board member slots open. As an all-volunteer led nonprofit organization, Give Back Cincinnati board members help lead and executive the strategic direction and operations management of the organization. Board members having voting rights and the fiduciary and legal responsibilities to the organization that comes along with serving on the board.

Where We currently meet at HCDC in Norwood, but meeting locations are subject to change depending on availability.
Commitment 5 to 7 hours/month
Donation We strive for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions.
Requirements For candidates interested in Executive Team roles, their experience must be relevant to the role they're applying for. For other Board positions, we expect strategic input and participation. The Executive Team meets bi-weekly and also has ongoing duties to fulfill. The Full Board meets quarterly, and every Board member is required to attend.
On-boarding Our leadership recruitment season for the following year begins in the late-summer of the current year. There is an application and interview process for each position. Candidates selected for a position are required to attend a Full Leadership Retreat in November. Outgoing Board members are expected to provide 1-1 transition meetings and support to incoming Board members. The President also assists each Board member in getting comfortably introduced into their new role.
