Board Member
Our board | The Board is constituted of at least 12 members of which a simple majority must be disabled. Board members are responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the organization. The Board develops the organization's long term goals and ensures that the mission, vision and values are upheld. Members understand the independent living movement and the role of an IL center in advocating and education the community on behalf of all people with disabilities. |

Position | CILO currently has two openings on our Board of Trustees. We are an independent living center serving people with disabilities throughout the region through a number of different programs and services. Right now we seeking board members who are passionate about helping others, may have a disability themselves, or know someone who has a disability. This is not a massive amount of time to commit, we just want your enthusiasm and passion for our mission. |

Requirements | Board members shall be active working members and bring their talents to further the purpose of the organization on a voluntary basis. Members shall provide financial support through their gifts, and foster relationships on behalf of the organization. Members are expected to attend monthly board meetings (6 each year) which are held at CILO's office. |

On-boarding | Candidates will complete an application; potential board members are considered based on their background, experience and skills, and willingness to further the purpose of the organization. Board members are elected to serve a three year term. |
