Board Member

Our board Journey to Hope's board is currently a hybrid - partly governance/advisory and partly working.
Position We are looking for a board member with skills in finance, fundraising and human resources. We require our board members to attend monthly board meetings, contribute personally meaningful funding, and to volunteer to help with various projects, ad hoc committees, and events in alignment with their skills and schedule.

Commitment 3 to 5 hours/month
Donation We strive for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions.
Requirements
On-boarding Board member candidates are invited to attend one or more meetings in the fall before their term would begin in February. Once a mutual interest has been established, candidates also meet with the Executive Director and Board Chair to discuss what the commitment and expectations are, per our board member job description. The ED and Chair become a support network for the new board member.
Our mission
Additional Info We are a young non-profit with a 20-year history [we started as a church ministry and separated in 2015]. We would love your help in taking Journey to Hope to the next level of excellence. We are an organization with one employee with plans for at least one more next year. We have participated in SE Cincy's Elevator and only need to fund a position to launch our social enterprise, our path to long-term sustainability, using our economic impact.
