Board Member – Fundraising

Our board The WCMC Board is a working Board made up of committees whose purpose is support the after school programs which make up the core or our ministry. We have a wonderful staff that works with the children and families directly, so our main activities as Board members are in fund raising and advocacy in our spheres of influence.
Position This board member will be able to join in our current fundraising activities as well as see new possibilities. She or he will  have the  necessary organizational skills to see the projects through to completion.  Knowledge of grant possibilities and grant writing skills would be helpful.

Commitment 1 to 3 hours/month
Donation We strive for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions.
Requirements Members are to attend the full board meetings which are every other month and are expected to serve on at least one committee which may meet more often. Our committees are: Development (fundraising) Personnel Finance Governance Grounds and Maintenance Our hope is that everyone will participate to some extent in development opportunities for short and long term projects. In order to fully appreciate our mission and the needs of the neighborhood, we encourage members to volunteer at the Center during the week or on Saturdays, but it is not a requirement for Board membership. We also expect members to contribute financially in an amount that is meaningful to them.
On-boarding Our process for on boarding new members: Provide a brief bio to help the current Board members know something about you. Be recommended by a current or past Board member. Have a discussion/interview with another Board member about WCMC, the Board and how they could contribute. Support the Board Expectations document. Visit the Center at least once.
Our mission We minister to our Over-the-Rhine children and families by demonstrating God's unconditional love, nurturing personal relationships with Jesus Christ, providing educational programs, guiding social and moral development and collaborating within the community.
