Ways to help youth thrive

Scouting Adult Volunteer

Volunteers can help in a number of ways, including direct contact leadership of Scout groups or committee positions. Direct contact leadership positions typically see volunteers leading groups of scouts in weekly or bi-weekly meetings and/or outings where they help scouts complete requirements to earn ranks and awards. Committee positions will see volunteers working “behind the scenes” with other adult volunteers and staff to make scouting at the unit, district or council level happen. All volunteers have a hand in helping improve Scouting and making a positive impact on the lives of youth.

How you help The Dan Beard Council's programs would not be possible without the aid of volunteers. Opportunities to volunteer exist for working with young people as well as in support roles to help with program development, fundraising, membership, camping, and training.
