Mentor Substitute

Don’t have time for a weekly commitment to mentoring but still want to help? Sometimes our mentors need to be away for reasons of illness, work, or vacation and need someone to step in to cover for them with their group of students. We love to have several mentor substitute options when this is needed. Mentor Subs are required to come to training, but then only come to mentoring on an as-needed basis.

Mentor

Each year our mentoring program grows and we need more volunteers to act as mentors. Mentors meet with students in small groups of 1- 3 students, for one hour each week. Currently, our program meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings – so mentors have a choice of which evening works for them. Mentors have in-depth training and utilize curriculum to guide their time with their students.

How you help We have many skilled and unskilled jobs from working with children, to office work, to construction. Just about anything you can think of. Children growing up in under-resourced areas often have not had the benefit of relationships with committed adults.
About us Cincinnati Urban Promise, Inc. seeks to create holistic change in the lives of youth and their families by meeting their physical, emotional, academic and spiritual needs through a Christ-centered approach to education, empowerment, and loving relationships.
