Position Festival of Fireworks Committee Member   Purpose of the Festival of Fireworks The Festival of Fireworks is a key part of the overall efforts of the Institutional Advancement Department to raise funds through special events that support the operations of the Dan Beard Council.  These events are often the only interaction people have with Scouting.  Our goal is to raise both dollars and awareness for Scouting. The committee is responsible for the following tasks:
  • The 2018 committee had 7 members.  The goal for 2019 is to have 10 members
  • Attend the committee meetings.  Meetings are TBD (either the first or second Thursday of every month) starting in November and are from 8:00 to 9:00 am at the Scout Achievement Center
  • Communicate regularly with council staff for updates on event activities and strategic decisions on next steps.
  • Commit to achieving the event goal by adding additional sponsors and creating an enjoyable atmosphere for guests
  • Committee members report to the chair of the Festival of Fireworks and work with staff Advisors
The Process: Soliciting individuals and companies: Committee members will call on prospective and existing companies for the purpose of securing a Sponsorship Additional Event Activities: Committee members work with DBC staff to ensure that event decisions and proposed actions are carried out Event Description: The event will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2019 in Mt. Adams. The event’s co-chairs are Joe Rippe, Jr. and Bob Sherman.  The committee decides the format of event including food, activities for adults and children, raffle and auction items, the music and all things related to the running of the event.

Our mission To prepare the over 20,000 young people in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
