Books needed!Many of you are looking for ways to help our neighbors during this unprecedented time. While we must be socially distant, we are eagerly anticipating days together again. We are working with our community partners to provide books to children through their meal distribution efforts and anticipate our blood inventory will be depleted shortly. While home, if you could please put aside any children’s books, we can coordinate conditions once the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Thank you for thinking of those in need during this difficult time. |

| Ways to help youth thrive |
Winners Read TutorThe Literacy Network invites volunteers to tutor students in Kindergarten-6th grade. As a volunteer, you will attend a two-hour training session at the Literacy Network offices, located in the Fox19 building in Queensgate. You will fill out paperwork for a Hamilton County background check and have your photo taken for a Cincinnati Public School volunteer badge. During the training, you will receive information on reading intervention and some suggested activities. You will also give the Literacy Network your availability and preferred location. We will work to match you with your preferred location and ask you commit at least 30 minutes a week. Once matched with a location, the school leads the way, connecting you with a student in need. Children are eager to have the one-on-one assistance with helping them learn to read better. You are a favorite part of their week and they are grateful for your time and energy!Little Free Library Steward |

| How you help | Volunteer tutor with a child or an adult, hold a book drive to collect gentle used books or volunteer at our location to sorts books! It will amaze you the difference a little of your time can make in one person's life. |

| About us | The Queen City Book Bank the community through the following activities: QCBB Signature Book Distribution: a curated book distribution program which provided K-6th grade students with 10 free, new books per year. Children tutoring program: Recruitment, training, and placement of volunteers in schools to work one-on-one with K-4th grade students. Adult tutoring program: Recruitment, training, and placement of volunteer with adult student who are struggling with the foundation of reading. Little Free Libraries: QCBB receives thousands of gently used books each year and the Little Free Libraries are the perfect conduit to get books into the hands of the children and families who need them most. Community Outreach and Public Awareness: Creates public awareness of literacy issues through partnerships, media, events, and the publication of its quarterly newsletter. |
