Our missionPeople Working Cooperatively performs critical home repairs and services so that low income homeowners can remain in their homes living independently and healthier in a safe, sound environment.
Ways to help

Home Improvement Saturdays

Come alone or organize a group to visit clients’ homes and help with tasks like yard work and simple home repairs. Help our clients tackle the “wish list” projects that continue to grow throughout the year. On every third Saturday.

Field Service

Consisting of retired professionals with home improvement skills needed to complete quick-hit repairs on clients’ “wish lists”

Repair Affair

Install handrails, repair drywall, fix leaky plumbing, repair damaged walkways & steps, and perform other home maintenaince.

How you helpPWC’s dedicated corps of 6,000-plus volunteers is a tremendous asset to the organization’s ability to maintain a strong presence in the community and complete thousands of home repair jobs a year. The time and contributions of people like you help your low-income, elderly and disabled neighbors remain independent and safe in their homes.
About usIndividuals of all skill levels interested in giving back to the community are welcome – from master tradesmen to those wanting to learn a skill and even those who can only perform simple household tasks. In all cases, volunteers will be matched with projects based on their skill sets and levels of experience. We can create a volunteer experience for you or your company!

Excellent idea - unless you have mulberry trees in close proximity. I loved my outdoor laundry line - until I found big purple plops on my laundry. That got old fast. So I air dry what I can indoors.

Shortly after moving into her home, Nakya’s life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. People Working Cooperatively came to Nakya’s assistance by installing a new banister on her stairs, modifying her front entrance, and renovating her bathroom so that she would be able to stay in her home and raise her children in a safe environment. More than 350 people attended the City of Cincinnati’s inaugural 50+ Cincy Celebration Wednesday, May 16 at Fountain Square. The event featured a variety of games, giveaways and entertainment focused on the theme of “Living Well.” Councilmember PG Sittenfeld, who initiated the City’s Golden Cincinnati Initiative, read a special proclamation from Mayor John Cranley declaring May 16 as “50+ Cincy Celebration Day” in Cincinnati. Part of the festivities included several members of Cincinnati City Council presenting 50+ Persons of the Year awards to Cincinnatians who do great things for the city and the people who live here. One of this year’s recipients was:
Joe Zielinski – A volunteer through People Working Cooperativelys volunteer home repair program for more than 15 years! Congratulations Joe, we are proud to have you as a member of the PWC family!
