Ways to help

Prepare Affair

Our annual fall volunteer event, held on a weekend in November each year. Form a team to help seniors and people with disabilities prepare their homes for winter by raking leaves and cleaning gutters. No prior experience needed, no group is too big or too small, and all ages are welcome! In most cases, groups can specify which neighborhoods they would like to serve. OR simply go where you're needed the most! With your help, we hope to assist over 800 homeowners in 7 counties on a single day.

Items we need now

Green Cleaning Kits

We are in need of 25 Green Cleaning Kits for our clients with asthma. Each kit will contain: distilled white vinegar, baking soda, dishwashing soap, rubbing alcohol (70% - 91% alcohol), salt, measuring cups, cleaning bucket, plastic spray bottle, microfiber cloth, rubber kitchen gloves, sponges and Brillo pads. These supplies will be used for our home health education programs that help clients reduce in-home asthma triggers. Many household cleaners (especially bleach and amonia) can exacerbate respiratory illness but they need a way to keep their homes clean and free of mold, dust and mildew. The focus of these "green cleaning kits" is to combine information about home health with safe cleaning methods that can limit the use of harsh chemicals. Items can be mailed or delivered to the address above, but our staff is working from home please sign up to coordinate a time with us in advance. We will come out to meet you with a cart.

How you help PWC volunteers support our programs by providing minor home repairs and other important maintenance services that traditional funding sources do not cover. Volunteers install handrails, repair sidewalks, replace leaky faucets, build wheelchair ramps, paint decks and porches, rake leaves, cut down overgrowth, and nearly everything in between. Volunteers join as individuals or in groups, both through our annual events and regularly throughout the year. Volunteers also assist with events, help plan fundraisers, assist with design and marketing, and become community advocates.
About us PWC makes a direct impact in the lives of our neighbors by fixing what’s broken and making their houses more comfortable homes. We help seniors, veterans, people with disabilities and families with children. Our dedicated staff of trained technicians responds to thousands of heating, plumbing, electrical and safety emergencies throughout the year, and we provide thousands of energy conservation services annually, reducing energy consumption and lowering utility bills. Each year, PWC provides nearly 10,000 services to approximately 5,000 households in the Cincinnati region, including northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana.
