Our missionOur no-kill shelter currently homes over 600 dogs and cats, many of whom have been abused, abandoned or literally tossed away. Teams of volunteers work with the animals two shifts a day, 365 days a year, providing them with a safe and caring environment until we can place them in permanent, loving homes. Over the years we have matched thousands of lucky animals with equally lucky families.

Furry Feature of the Week – Grayson!Meet Grayson, a 3-year-old Domestic Short Hair & Tabby Mix. His estimated birth date is 2015.This charmingly rounded gray and white kitty loves nothing more than a good snuggle. Grayson is a happy little guy who would flourish in a quiet and nurturing home, as he still gets a little nervous around a lot of commotion.Grayson is one lucky cat. A volunteer who does TNR (trap-neuter-return) received a call one day from a person in one of the neighborhoods where she had been working to inform her of a deceased cat outside. She arrived to discover that the cat wasnt dead after all but was frozen and severely debilitated. Lots of TLC at the vet and our shelter, and Grayson is now completely healthy and ready for a new, awesome life as a pampered house pet.The company of other cats seems to build Graysons confidence, although he would probably be fine in a one-and-only situation. As he likes to give love nibbles, an adults-only family would be best for this docile lad whos come so far. Is your cozy home his destination?Grayson would love for you to stop by our shelter to meet him during cat adoption hours on Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30pm, and Saturdays, 1-4pm. We are located at 4011 Red Bank Rd., Cincinnati, 45227.Please visit our website for more information about our adoption process: http://staf.org/index.php/adoption.If you have questions for our adoption team, please contact them through Graysons Petfinder profile: https://www.petfinder.com/cat/grayson-41563298/oh/cincinnati/save-the-animals-foundation-oh426/.Please share to help Grayson find his forever home!Dont think Grayson is the right cat for you? Meet Grayson, a 3-year-old Domestic Short Hair & Tabby Mix. His estimated birth date is 2015.

This charmingly rounded gray and white kitty loves nothing more than a good snuggle. Grayson is a happy little guy who would flourish in a quiet and nurturing home, as he still gets a little nervous around a lot of commotion.

Grayson is one lucky cat. A volunteer who does TNR (trap-neuter-return) received a call one day from a person in one of the neighborhoods where she had been working to inform her of a deceased cat outside. She arrived to discover that the cat wasn't dead after all but was frozen and severely debilitated. Lots of TLC at the vet and our shelter, and Grayson is now completely healthy and ready for a new, awesome life as a pampered house pet.

The company of other cats seems to build Grayson's confidence, although he would probably be fine in a one-and-only situation. As he likes to give love nibbles, an adults-only family would be best for this docile lad who's come so far. Is your cozy home his destination?

Grayson would love for you to stop by our shelter to meet him during cat adoption hours on Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30pm, and Saturdays, 1-4pm. We are located at 4011 Red Bank Rd., Cincinnati, 45227.

Furry Feature of the Week – Skipper!Meet Skipper, a 10-month-old Newfoundland Mix. His estimated birth date is July 2017.This extremely handsome big puppy came to STAF from a rural county shelter, and we don’t know anything about his past. Skipper is approximately 10 months old, 57 pounds, and still has some growing to do! He appears to be a Newfoundland mix - a big boy.Like most puppies, Skipper is energetic, wants attention, loves to play (especially with balls and other dogs!), and is sweet and boisterous. He is a strong boy and will benefit from positive training, lots of daily exercise, and would love to find an active family who loves big dogs! Skipper is a very big-lovable-lug.Here is some great feedback on Skipper from a volunteer after taking him out for the day:“Skipper is delightful! He is sweet and exuberant. Skipper was much better on a leash than I expected, being new to us and still a young guy. He jogged well and loved hiking. We passed many people and dogs at the park. He was friendly with everyone. Skipper has a very cute way of introducing himself to other dogs. He plants his feet and leans in to the point where his hind legs are stretched out way behind him and he presents his face to the other dog with tail wagging. All the other dogs really liked him - he made fast friends with all of them, big and small. We came across a giant standard poodle who was the size of a small horse and Skipper jumped like he had seen a ghost but then leaned in, tail wagging.Skipper also is the type of dog that checks in with you, looking up with his big sweet eyes making sure you are still there and all is well. As I was jogging with him, I would tell him he was a good boy and he would hop with excitement. He has a really charming youthful sweetness about him. He also has his harness figured out already. He was getting a big drink of water upon return to his run and as I was taking his harness off, he politely lifted his paw without prompting so I could unharness him. Skipper is a fast learner and a really nice boy who wants to please. He is also very handsome and affectionate. When I would pause on our hike and bend down he would come right over and press up to me for some TLC. He is a charmer!”Skipper will need: A home to provide him with the daily exercise that a big, young dog needs. Skipper will most likely need a fenced yard.Skipper would love: To learn the basics with positive-based training.Skipper would love for you to stop by our shelter to meet him during dog adoption hours on Saturdays, 11am-2pm. Were happy to welcome little Robbie to STAF! This adorable boy came to us from a rural county shelter, where the volunteers raved about what a super dog he is! Robbie is a dachshund mix, 18 months old, and just 13 pounds. Hes very friendly, loves attention from people, and is good with other dogs and cats. Gotta love those little legs :) For adoption information, go to http://staf.org/index.php/meet-our-dogs/

Here's Robbie in his television debut...m.fox19.com/clip/14360743/save-the-animals-foundation

He’s the sweetest! Loves to cuddle on your lap and such a gentleman on leash, too.
