Our mission Our mission is to provide year-round sports, training, and competition in a variety of sports for children and adults with mental and developmental disabilities in order to create continuing opportunities for them to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience the joy of achievement, be included in the community, build skills, and make friends.

Seasonal/Sports Programs

The minimum commitment is 2 hours per week for 8-10 weeks. Coaches/Asst. Coaches/Volunteers work directly with the athletes to improve their skills in specific Special Olympics Sports.

Ways to help youth thrive

Coach

Coaches volunteer on a weekly basis to train athletes in a particular sport. Coaches develop the skills of our athletes and prepare them to compete in major events. The time commitment for a coach is two hours per week for eight to 10 weeks at a time. What is required of a coach can vary based on the program.
