Shelter Activity Facilitator

Host an activity night at our shelter for homeless women and children. Activities could be geared towards adults, children, or both! Shelter activity nights happen Sunday-Thursday, 7:30PM-8:30PM.

Shelter Meal

Cook a meal for the 30 women and children in our shelter, and drop off the meal around 3PM on any day of the week! Great way to help from the comfort of your home and engage children in a good cause.

Cleaning, Personal Care & Food Items

Below is a list of our essential donation needs. We ask that all other in-kind donations be held until further notice (with the exception of Shelter meals). We ask that all donation drop-offs be scheduled with Sara Kahmann, who is available at [email protected] or (859) 292-9352. ESSENTIAL DONATION NEEDS:
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Antibacterial hand soap
  • Sanitizing wipes, sprays, and liquid cleaner
  • Baby wipes
  • Tents
  • Bottled water
  • Foods that don’t require cooking (for example, canned tuna & chicken, peanut butter, crackers, granola & protein bars, canned soups with tab-top, etc.)
  • Fever-reducing medicines (non-ibuprofen)
  • Cold & flu medicines
  • Gatorade
  • Vitamin C
  • Sleeping bags
  • Size 4 diapers
  • Ground coffee
  • Adult underwear (Must be new)
  • Adult socks (Must be new)

Ways to help youth thrive

Child Care Provider

Our clients are constantly working to find employment, attend trainings and meetings, and secure an education. By volunteering as a Child Care Provider, you are helping our clients reach these goals by watching their children as they balance many priorities often times with no support model. Shelter is looking for Child Care Providers during Shelter house meetings.

Class Host

The Class Host will volunteer their time and talent to teach the Welcome House clients specific skills. Don’t know what special skills you have to share? What about knitting? Crafts? Budgeting? The opportunities are endless. Just let us know your ideas and we will help you find the right fit!
