Our mission

WordPlay sparks storytelling through writing, performance, and visual arts in collaboration with Cincinnati’s young people by celebrating their strengths, cultivating belonging, and fueling social impact.

Tech Support Help

Help is needed to update an old laptop. We need hardware troubleshooting. Please email Libby at libby@wordplaycincy.org if you think you can help us save an old laptop.

Behind-the-Scenes Volunteer

There is so much work to be done “behind the scenes” in order to make WordPlay’s events and programs run smoothly. These opportunities cover a wide range of work, from physical to administrative. Volunteers may help us paint a new program space; print, fold and/or pack materials for an outreach event; or hang up flyers in local neighborhoods, advertising our free programs.

Event & Outreach Volunteer

From open mic nights to Ride for Reading, WordPlay hosts several community events throughout the year. And the more people we have around to help, the better! Duties may include setting up/cleaning up; distributing flyers; greeting attendees and showing them where to go; serving food and drinks; and taking photos.

Founded in 2012, WordPlay Cincy provides reading, writing and storytelling programs in three models: community-based, school-based and on-site programming. Our innovative programs are carefully designed to spark creativity and create self-efficacy, inspiring children and teens to become lifelong learners.
