Way to Help Title Way to Help Content The Community-Based program pairs children in one to one relationships with caring adult volunteers like you! Being a Big Brother or Big Sister or Big Couple is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable things you will ever do. Meeting just 2-4 times a month can change a young person’s life. In the Community-Based program, you will go to your little’s house, pick him or her up and take them out on an activity. The friendship you build is what helps these children overcome amazing obstacles in their lives. Your Little can join you for the kinds of activities you already like to do, such as shooting hoops, playing a board game, sharing a pizza, taking a walk in the park, or just hanging out and talking. Little Brothers and Little Sisters come from all kinds of backgrounds. Some are really little (as young as seven) and some are teenagers. Some may live on your block and some a few miles away. Some just need an extra friend and some have a lot of obstacles to overcome. What they all have in common is that they need the friendship and guidance of someone like you! We want to fit the program into your life, so our volunteers can be an individual female (Big Sister) or male (Big Brother), a couple (Big Couple) or even a family that volunteers together (Big Family).
