Way to Help Title Way to Help Content Life Coach mentors make a huge difference in the life of a teen! A Life Coach mentor is a trusted adult friend with a long-term, consistent commitment to provide guidance and support to a youth. Mentoring Plus makes sure you have a great match, and once connected, you attend our program one evening per week. Our program has a consistent schedule. We eat dinner from 5:45-6:15 pm, have a Life Skills lesson from 6:15-6:45 pm, education time from 6:45-7:15, and free time from 7:15-7:45. Our Life Skills lessons are prepared by staff and completed by the Life Coach and teen, and the lessons consist of a wide variety of subjects including healthy relationships, drug and alcohol abuse prevention, spirituality and sexuality. During education time you help your teen with their homework or participate in another educational activity. When we have free time you get to spend time doing an activity you both enjoy, like basketball, crafts, board games, or just listening to music and talking. We wrap up and dismiss by 8:00. No other program in Kentucky gives high-risk youth such a proven opportunity for positive change. Mentoring Plus follows a proven methodology to help teens overcome the obstacles they face and turn them into opportunities through life coaching, spiritual guidance and family support. We don’t take our program lightly – its design is evidenced-based and formed from best practices. And we can only do it with your help!
