First Step Home impressed with resiliency of its clients

First Step Home is responding to the coronavirus pandemic on a daily and weekly basis, placing the highest priority on the safety and health of our clients and staff, while continuing our important mission.

This week management team held a strategic planning meeting consider the present and future of the agency. Much time was spent working on basics such as making masks (which we have had a hard time ordering), the continuing search for touch thermometers, and other cleaning supplies to facilitate ongoing cleaning efforts. If you have access to or are making masks or have touch or tympanic thermometers, please email [email protected].

Today, we are incorporating many tasks that are above and beyond our normal efforts. This includes caring for more children due to schools and day care centers being closed in the Cincinnati region. We are impressed with the children’s natural resiliency and how joyfully they accept the additional time with their mothers and even wear masks, as do all of our clients and staff.

Additionally, we are extremely grateful to our individual and foundation donors who have stepped up during this difficult time and are helping us keep the ship afloat. Many thanks.

Finally, we want to give a special shout out to our amazing staff, who are so dedicated to the health and safety of our clients and are doing so much to keep us on track to provide full services to our women and children.

Our programs are continuing to operate – call on us! The main number is 513-961-4663.

Visit our website (www.firststephome.org) for updates and changes in protocol. Please remember that we have adopted a no visitor policy for all of our buildings until further notice. Our clients need us now more than ever.
