Meet warrior, Alyssa. She's a local high school student who's been living with severe depression since the age of six. We love that she's brave enough to talk about her struggles with depression, eating disorders, self-harm, and comparison and how medication and therapy have changed her life. Thanks, Alyssa for being so open and making others feel less alone. ... See MoreSee Less

Selena Gomez mental health update on The-mighty:On Wednesday, Selena Gomez, who has lupus, was admitted to a psychiatric hospital after having a panic attack following a recent health setback. According to People, Gomez was hospitalized twice within the past few weeks for “a low blood cell count,” which can be a side effect of having a kidney transplant. While it’s important that she was able to get treatment for both her mental and physical health, her hospitalization shows how critical it is to address mental health in conjunction with chronic illness.

And coverage for pre-existing conditions. VOTE 11/6/18

Because mental health is just as important as physical health! And the two are SO RELATED!

Healthcare for the whole person is so important; the strides we could make in so many other areas if mental healthcare was just as important as any other healthcare can’t be overlooked!
