Art off the Walls is inspired by one of Cincinnati’s most original murals, Campy Washington, designed by Scott Donaldson, and located in the heart of Campy Washington. Celebrate the spirit of this unique neighborhood, and for the first time ever see Campy Washington and many other ArtWorks murals come to life.
The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Auction community are coming together in new, innovative ways to support moms and babies this year. Celebrating another year at 55 NORTH and in honoring Suzanne Burke, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio. She is an amazingly talented advocate for our aging population in Ohio. Proceeds from the event will be used to support our ongoing transportation, nutrition, and wellness programs. 55 NORTH provides a connected, caring community for seniors living independently. Your financial support will be our NORTH STAR that leads the way to a brilliant future for 55 NORTH as we meet the changing needs of older adults and their families in our community, now and for many years to come.
The Salvation Army’s signature event: The 66th Annual Civic & Awards Luncheon taking place at noon on November 2, 2022 at a change in venue, The Phoenix.
AJC Cincinnati will present Dr. Stephen and Penny Pomeranz with its 2022 National Human Relations Award at an event with special guest speaker Xavier University President Colleen Hanycz.
A KEEP Healthy Free Kidney Health Check will screen for kidney disease risk and include risk survey, body mass index (BMI), blood pressure check, free educational materials, and the opportunity to speak with a healthcare professional.
Teacher Resource Center at Crayons to Computers: Packaging/Organizing. On-site help that could include sorting books, office supplies, school supplies and donated items. Repackaging items for distribution including educational tools.
Sorting and packaging Power Packs for kids or Food Boxes for Seniors.
Refresh and renew at Valley Early Learning Center. Valley Early Learning Center provides childcare services for school age, infants, toddlers, and preschool children. The center wants to refresh and renew the area and make it more welcoming and safer for children and their families. Activities for this service project include painting games such as hopscotch, 4-square and a fun obstacle course on the playground area. Painting a mural on the wall of the school age classroom is also planned as is cleaning and sanitizing toys and classroom materials and space.
Refresh and renew at Play Time Early Learning Center. Play Time Early Learning Center provides childcare services for school age, infants, toddlers, and preschool children. The center wants to refresh and renew the area and make it more welcoming and safer for children and their families. Activities for this service project include painting an exterior wooden fence, trimming lower branches of trees and simple landscaping, and washing windows. In case of rain, volunteers can assist with cleaning and sanitizing toys, classroom materials, and space.
Refresh and renew at Christ Child Day Nursery: This childcare center provides services for school age, infants, toddlers, and preschool children. The center has various projects that will refresh and renew the area to make it a more welcoming and safer environment. Activities include painting games such as hopscotch, 4-square and a fun obstacle course on the black top playground area. In addition, landscaping, fall planting and cleaning of the playground area and front walkway will be included.
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts will hold the Olave Baden-Powell Annual International Conference in Cincinnati (Hilton Netherland Plaza) from October 20-23, 2022. 300 members from around the world will attend. Ten volunteers are needed for October 21 and 10 volunteers are needed for October 22. Volunteers can work a full day or half a day. No minors under the age of 18.
Volunteers will serve dinner in the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Dining Room to guests who are homeless and to anyone who needs a meal.
Volunteering with families: This service project will include two tasks. The first will include serving lunch to women and their children. Following lunch, and while the women are attending classes on life skills, volunteers will assist with the children.
Feed the Need: Volunteers will have the opportunity to cook and serve lunch to the residents of Shelterhouse at the Ester Marie Hatton Center for Women. The center serves 60 residents.
This project includes weeding and mulching of all the flower beds and general clean-up of their outdoor space.
Volunteers will be packaging soup, snack pack, and preparing general kitchen prep including sorting, chopping, and cleaning food.
